Machin’s portrait of Her Majesty is arguably the most replicated image to date. The design also featured on British stamps for over 50 years after he used his coinage effigy for inspiration. The Arnold Machin Set comprises the 1974 Sovereign, the 1979 Proof Sovereign and the 1980 Half-Sovereign, all containing the famous Machin portrait.
