The Royal Mint, the UK’s home of precious metals, is encouraging people to give the timeless gift of gold this Christmas, as it unveils its new expertly crafted Christmas gold bullion minted bars.
The exclusive design, from The Royal Mint Technical Coin Designer Kerry Davies, features a Christmas tree, which has been a symbol of Christmas for centuries, deeply rooted in both religious and cultural traditions.
The bar is available in 1g and 5g editions and minted in 999.9 fine gold. Each bar is individually numbered to prove authenticity and is presented in a seasonal sleeve, making it a perfect Christmas gift.
Gold is traditionally given as a gift in many cultures as a precious keepsake, but also to encourage saving and investment for both children and adults. The Royal Mint’s Christmas bullion bars make the perfect gift that can be treasured forever.
Andrew Dickey, Director of Precious Metals at The Royal Mint, said: “Gold is the perfect gift for those of all ages. It holds appeal as a special keepsake and it’s a savvy gift for both children and adults to embark on a journey of saving. Gold has lasting value, so won’t be thrown to the back of the cupboard or discarded, as so many Christmas gifts are.
“The Royal Mint’s Christmas bullion bars feature a special festive design and uphold the standards you’d expect from a world-leading mint.”
Kerry Davies, Technical Coin Designer at The Royal Mint, said: “It has been a pleasure to work on The Royal Mint’s Christmas Bullon Bars, showcasing a design that is instantly recognizable and embodies the spirit of the festive season. Combining innovative design techniques with traditional craftmanship, the distinct outline of the Christmas tree against the canvas catches the light beautifully.
“Having worked at The Royal Mint for almost 20 years, it’s so gratifying to contribute to a product that is treasured by customers.”

The Royal Mint aims to inspire collectors young and old, and nurture a love of collecting through unique designs and popular themes. As the maker of UK coinage, we have unparalleled knowledge about coins, from the historic coins of our past, through to the collectable commemorative coins of today. Sourcing and authenticating pre decimal coins is a natural fit for The Royal Mint as we struck each one.

Celebrating with The Royal Mint:
For over a thousand years The Royal Mint has marked the moments that changed the world on coins - from coronations to conflict, from commemorations to celebrations. The designs are captured on commemorative coins, minted in a range of metals. Commemorative coins do not always enter circulation but give collectors the chance to purchase coins to keep and cherish. Recent themes have included David Bowie, Winnie the Pooh, Decimalisation and Team GB. Each commemorative coin is carefully struck up to three times in order to create a superbly detailed finish, and ensuring each one meets the standards The Royal Mint is famous for.
