This medal is one of the few medals or coins that features the Coat of Arms of Northern Ireland, as the Coat of Arms of Northern Ireland has not been able to be used since the abolishment of Northern Ireland’s Parliament in 1972. The obverse of the medal features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right accompanied by ‘ELIZABETH II. REGINA’ around the outer edge, whilst the reverse shows the Coat of Arms of Northern Ireland.
