George III is one of the longest-reigning British monarchs and so has an interesting and varied coinage. Early in his reign, guineas were the primary coin but by the end of his reign The Sovereign had once again taken its place as the chief coin. This half guinea uses the same bust design as the later military guinea and is a must-have for followers of British history and coin lovers alike.
