ENGRAVED IN HISTORY
D-Day: 6 June 1944
On 6 June 1944, the largest amphibious assault in history landed on five Normandy beaches. The date has become engraved in history and this UK coin commemorates the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Artist David Lawrence pays tribute to the troops with a design that depicts Allied soldiers leaving assault craft and wading ashore.
